If you are still looking for a student org that interests you or fits with your schedule, here are a few to consider:

Minority Association of Pre-Health Professionals;

Mission Statement: the Minority Association of Pre-Health Professionals (MAPP) aims to promote access to resources, volunteer opportunities, counseling and mentorship to students who seek a professional career in the field of science and/or medicine.

Membership Requirements:

-Must be in good academic standing with the university

-Membership fee of $20 per semester, or $35 for the year, send to cashapp $MappTxst

Meetings:

-Wednesdays at 6:30 pm via zoom

-Weekly

-Mandatory

How to Join: email the secretary at ajm301 to be added to the canvas page. You can attend the next meeting for free and see how you like it. If you decide that you want to be in the club, you can then pay the membership fee and be an official member

Pros: you get valuable resources to help you on your pre-health journey, we have guest speakers, and you can be a part of a great support system!

Peers Against Covid;

Mission Statement: Peers Against COVID (PAC) is the only group on campus dedicated solely to the assistance of teachers and students affected by COVID-19. This organization will provide volunteer opportunities to give back to those in the bobcat community affected by the pandemic.

Membership Requirements:

-Must be in good academic standing with the university

-Must volunteer at least 4 times per month

-Must pay membership fee of $5 per semester, send to cash app $PacTxst

-Must follow our code of conduct including respect for other members and their beliefs. Any violation of this may result in the removal from our organization

Meetings:

-Wednesday’s at 7:30pm via Zoom

-Bi-weekly (every other week)

-Mandatory

Pros: it is an easy way to rack up on community service hours. When you apply to graduate schools, they are going to ask questions like “what did you do during Covid”, or “how did you help combat Covid”. Being a part of this club would be a great answer!
