Subject: [TAAHP] BCM Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Biomedical Sciences and Health Equity

Dear Advisors,

Thank you for encouraging your students to apply for the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Center of Excellence in Health Equity, Training and Research Scholars Program for post-baccalaureate premedical students. I hope you will encourage other students of the caliber you have previously recommended to consider BCM this year.

We are pleased to announce the start of our Post-Baccalaureate Certificate of Completion in Biomedical Sciences and Health Equity. This one-year, full-time program is designed to prepare the next batch of students the skillset and knowledge for entrance into an accredited Medical School or a Graduate Health Professions Program.

The certificate of completion program will provide:

  • Tailored graduate-level, graded coursework within our Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
  • Unique emphasis on health equity and social determinants of health
  • MCAT test preparation
  • Mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities
  • Opportunity to study in the World’s Largest Medical Center
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • All these benefits while living in Houston, TX, the most diverse largest metropolitan city in the country! This includes a cost of living in the top quarter of largest metropolitan cities in the country!

Our free application will open February 8! A GRE or MCAT score is required!

We recognize the challenges students will be facing this year in deciding about future academic endeavors with limited or no opportunities for travel. We are committed to helping students gather the information they need to determine if BCM is right for them. Please encourage your students to join us for virtual recruiting events and to contact me if they would like to set up a time to discuss their interests one-to-one.

We would also be happy to do an exclusive virtual event for students at your institution. Please email gradcertadmissions to discuss developing a program tailored to the needs and interests of your students.

Once again, thank you for your previous recommendation letter and support of our programs at BCM. Please let me know if you or your students have any questions.

Regards,
