Please note the following information for the 2021 administrations of the MCAT. If you are a pre-med student and getting close to MCAT time, you should consider following the AAMC (American Association of Medical Colleges) on some form of social media so that you receive the latest updates for them. Though we will also try to keep you updated as well! The 2021 test calendar is attached.
Yesterday, the AAMC announced the 2021 MCAT registration and test updates – while the full details of the announcement are available on the AAMC website, here is a summary of the main changes for 2021 (as of 10/07/2020).
- Full-Length Exams: The 2021 MCAT exams will return to the traditional full-length in-person administrations
- Score release: In 2021, test score release dates will return to the traditional format of 30-35 days after test administration
- Two Exam Administrations: There will be two exams administered each test day (7:30 am and 3:00 pm)
- Three Registration Dates: There will be three registration opening dates for the 2021 administrations (November, February, and May)
- November – On Tuesday, November 10 at 12:00 pm (ET) students can register for January and March dates. Historically, the AAMC has not provided the opening time of registration, causing students to vigilantly check the website. Now students can be fully prepared to register at 12 noon (ET) on the 10th of November.
- Pre-registration will begin on November 2 at 12:00 pm (ET). Pre-registration allows students to create their AAMC account and populate their biographical information, saving time on registration day.
February (precise date TBD) – Students can register for April, May, and June administrations May (precise date TBD)– Students can register for July, August, and September administrations More specific announcement information is listed on AAMC’s website and Twitter account.
